The Langford Trust Christmas Card Designs for 2020
The Langford Trust for Animal Health and Welfare is delighted to reveal the three new designs it has chosen for the charity’s 2020 Christmas card collection.
Each year the Langford Trust has a selection of Christmas cards and everyday greeting cards available to buy online or from the Small Animal Practice at Langford. The cards are a fantastic way for the Trust to publicise its work to a wider audience and raise awareness of the importance of furthering animal welfare and veterinary science. It also provides dedicated donors with an opportunity to help support the Trust with much needed fundraising; this is particularly significant in 2020.
Sadly, the coronavirus pandemic has meant all the Langford Trust events for 2020 have been cancelled and many donors have not been able to engage in their usual fundraising activities. Critically, our Christmas card sales are going to be the one definite opportunity to raise vital funds for the Trust this year.
In reaction to the coronavirus lockdown, the Langford Trust launched an online greeting card design challenge to engage with current and potential supporters. The Trustees hoped the challenge would be an interesting activity for followers to focus on during the restrictions of lockdown and perhaps showcase previously unknown artistic talents. The competition ran throughout August and was open to anyone to create either a Christmas or everyday design featuring animals that could be made into an official charity card. Thanks to the enthusiasm and efforts of everyone who entered, the Trust received an array of colourful entries and it has been a difficult but fun task deciding on which designs to select for printing.
It is our pleasure to confirm that the winning Christmas card entries from the Langford Trust design challenge are as follows: ‘Pigs in Blankets’ by Anne Turner, ‘Christmas Joy’ by Naomi Johnston and ‘Canine Christmas’ by Lottie Gardner. All our finalists will receive a printed set of the Langford Trust charity cards featuring their individual design plus a Langford Trust polo shirt.
If you wish to preview the new prints and pre-order any cards simply click on this link Langford Trust Cards. We are also keen to supply local shops and supporting organisations with stock to sell. If you are in a position to sell our charity cards please contact us and we will be delighted to arrange orders.
2020 has without doubt been a difficult year for everyone, but we hope Christmas will still be a time when people can connect with each other. It is very hard to predict whether we will be celebrating in the usual fashion; with the traditional parties and family gatherings. However, no matter what happens over the next few months, we can undoubtedly take the time to rekindle our writing skills and send Christmas cards.
Christmas cards do not need to be a thing of the past, or just another annoying thing on our ever expanding to do lists. Why not make this Christmas really special; take the opportunity to send charity cards to people you know and in doing so support a great cause . You will be making a real difference in so many ways.
We hope you will choose a card from the Langford Trust.
With very best wishes
